Saint John's Resort, formerly The Inn at St. Johns - Plymouth, MI
When the Archdiocese of Detroit sought to transform a 200-acre, 100,000 square foot shuttered seminary, they turned to HIS. The result? A stunning 4-Diamond luxury hotel with 118 rooms, two restaurants, three bars, a 27-hole golf course, ballrooms, and conference spaces. HIS developed and managed this thriving asset for over 20 years, driving its success until it was sold to a private foundation.
Lake View Hotel - Mackinac Island, MI
HIS stepped in to manage this well-positioned but aging 86-room condominium hotel, facing the challenge of raising renovation funds. Through innovative financial structuring, HIS worked closely with individual owners to convert fee simple ownership into shares of a new LLC, securing conventional bank financing. This forward-thinking solution enabled a successful property renovation, revitalizing the hotel.
Wyoming Inn - Jackson Hole, WY
HIS identified and acquired, on behalf of a client, this underperforming luxury hotel. Over just three years, HIS expertly repositioned the property, improving its value and market standing. Recognizing optimal market conditions, we advised the client to sell—and the result? A sale price three times the initial purchase price, with minimal capital investment.
Hilton Garden Inn - Laramie, WY
HIS successfully developed this hotel using New Market Tax Credits, strategically located on the University of Wyoming campus. Through building strong relationships with university stakeholders, HIS not only developed the hotel but also the collocated UW Conference Center. Under HIS management, the hotel has been the top performer in Laramie since its grand opening in 2008.
Zehnder’s Splash Village - Frankenmuth, MI
The renowned Zehnder family, owners of the James Beard award-winning restaurant, entrusted HIS with revenue management for their 179-room family waterpark hotel. In addition to maximizing revenue, HIS also consulted on the development of the luxury-positioned Mill Hotel of Frankenmuth, elevating the family’s already iconic hospitality brand.
